Vice President Asiapac-India Operation
Director India Design Centres
STMicroelectronics Pvt. Ltd
Vivek Sharma is a 1986 graduate in Electronics and Communications
Engineering from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh and
Master in Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology,
Delhi in communication systems.
He began his career in electronics system design, and for
initial five years worked with Associated Electronics Research
Foundation, Noida and developed multiple electronics systems
in the domain of mixed analog & DSP for a wide range of
applications in the field of telecommunications, Personal
Security and Automated Machine Health Monitoring.
In 1991, Sharma joined STMicroelectronics to work in VLSI
design and was based in France. He pioneered the Top Down
Design Methodology for the Analog/Mixed Analog designs and
developed analog macros like Clock Generators (PLL).
He returned to India in 1994, and for next eight years built a
team of 200+ engineers to develop design platforms consisting
of VLSI building blocks including Digital Libraries, I/O's,
Mixed Analog Macros like PLL, Data Converters, Embedded
Memories etc. in state-of-the-art technologies, ranging from
0.5 microns to 90nm. In 2002, he was promoted to Director, IP
Design Factory, to head the development activities of ST India
in the field of VLSI IPs, SoCs, embedded and application
software.
In 2005, he was appointed Vice-President for ST |
