TECHNOVATION KARANTAKA AWARDS 2008 |

Special Awards in the area of semiconductors and embedded systems for excellence in academic activities by Faculty in the State of Karnataka and innovative post graduate project work by Students.
The VLSI-2007 Conference Committee is the sponsor of the Technovation Karnataka Award. The VLSI-2007 Conference on Semiconductor Design, Embedded Systems and EDA was held in Bangalore in January 2007. The Conference had the mission of contributing to the cause of the Semiconductor and VLSI Education and Training Eco-system with a special emphasis on the state of Karnataka. The Technovation-Karnataka Award was constituted to reward academic excellence of students and faculty in the state of Karnataka in the area of semiconductor and embedded systems

BEST FACULTY MEMBER AWARD
This award is for currently active faculty members in the VLSI, Semiconductor, Embedded Software and other relevant areas of interest to the ISA.

Eligibility:
This award is restricted to faculty members teaching in colleges in the state of Karnataka, which are managed and controlled by Karnataka headquartered bodies. The nominee must be a resident Indian and there is no age bar.
Nomination and Selection Process:

Candidate can either self-nominate, or be nominated by the Head of the Department, the Principal of the college, a peer faculty member, or an ex-student who is now in the industry However, the supporting documentation and other details will have to be provided by the candidate, when asked for. |

Please note that the limit on the number of words prescribed in the application form should be strictly followed. The panel may reject applications where the number of words exceeds the limit in any of the sections. |

Only short-listed candidates will be approached for providing additional information and supporting documents. These documents have to be submitted within the stipulated period in electronic form – preferably via e-mail to technovation@isaonline.org, or in a CD. |

If there are any discrepancies between the supporting document and initial application version, the panel reserves the right to reject the application. |

How to apply:
- Download the nomination form on-line. (The same form to be used for self nomination as well as nomination by others)
- VERY IMPORTANT- Do not delete any field in the application format even if it is not directly relevant to the nominee.
- Wherever possible, convert the completed application or nomination from to .PDF format and send electronically (email) or send in a CD by post or courier in the prescribed address in the application form.

BEST PG STUDENT PROJECT AWARD
For post-graduate student projects in the area of VLSI, semiconductors, embedded software and other relevant areas of interest to ISA.

Eligibility:
PG students of colleges in the state of Karnataka who have qualified for their master’s degree between January 01, 2007 and February 28, 2008.
All post-graduate students in ISA’s domain(s) of interest (given separately in the website) are eligible for this award.
This award is restricted to PG students from colleges in the state of Karnataka, which are managed and controlled by Karnataka headquartered bodies. The nominee/applicant must be a resident Indian and there is no age bar.
Nomination and Selection Process:

Candidate can nominate himself, or be nominated by head of the department or the Principal of the college, faculty member, reporting head of the organization where s/he is employed. However, the supporting documentation and other details will have to be provided by the candidate if asked to do so. |

If there are any discrepancies between the supporting document and initial application, the panel reserves the right to reject the application. |

Only short listed candidates will be contacted by the Award team for submission of additional/ supporting details. |

How to apply:
- Download the nomination form available online. (The same form to be used for self nomination as well as nomination by others)
- If you are filling the form online, you are required to print the form (Do not delete any field in the original application form)
- If submitting as an individual, please get the form attested by the institute with the seal of the institute,
- If nominated by company where you are working, get the form attested by the project/department head
- Attach a photograph of yourself, and mail to the ISA address in the application form.
- All Annexures to be submitted in hard copy.
- The selection committee will consider only those online forms for which the attested forms reach ISA before 31 March 2008.
- Please do not send the soft copy of entire theses - only relevant information needs to be filled in respective fields.
