Before his stint as Managing
Director of Sandalwood Partners and Vice Chairman SemIndia,
Bob was the Chairman & CEO of Xalted Networks, Inc.,
a telecom software infrastructure company with offices in
India, Italy and USA. Additionally, Bob held key advisory
roles in Focus Ventures (a late stage venture fund with
over $1B capital under management), Selby Ventures (an early
stage venture fund with over $250M under management), UTI
Ventures (with over $200M India opportunities fund) and
other key financial institutions.
Bob also co-founded and promoted several
technology companies which include Ramp Networks (acquired
by Nokia), Softcom Microsystems (acquired by Intel) and
Icompression (acquired by Globespan/Conexant).
Prior to Xalted, Bob was a partner of Charter
Venture Capital ($400M fund). At Charter Ventures, Bob’s
primary focus was on Semiconductors and Communications sector,
including networking, telecommunications and services. Some
of the notable portfolio companies of Charter Ventures include
Linear Technology (Nasdaq: LLTC), Avaya (NYSE: AV), Ramp
Networks (acquired by Nokia), Interwave (acquired by Alvarion),
Commerce One, Intermune, Interwoven, Niku, etc.
Bob holds a BE degree from Clemson University
(1982) USA. He has been in USA for more than 30 years and
serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Xalted Networks,
Inc and MediaLabs Asia.
