Mr. K.R. Jyothilal joined the Indian Administrative Service in the year 1993. During his service in the IAS he has served as the District Collector of Thiruvananthapuram and Kannur. He was also the Director of Agriculture, Fisheries and the Executive Director of the World Bank aided Water Supply Project in Kerala.

He is a B. Tech from IIT Madras.
