Michael Scown is the Asia
Managing Director, Treasury, for Intel Capital, focusing
on the financial evaluation, structuring and execution of
Intel’s strategic investments in Asia. He previously
served as Intel Capital’s Asia Regional Counsel, representing
Intel in its investments in PCCW, Nikon and Elpida Memory,
Inc., among others. Michael is a recipient of the Intel
Achievement Award, Intel’s highest recognition for
individual and team achievement.
Before joining Intel, Michael was a partner
with an international law firm, practicing in San Francisco
and in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from 1993-1998, where he
was a founder and Chairman of the Board of Governors of
the American Chamber of Commerce. Prior to that he served
as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of
State. He is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley (A.B.), the University
of San Francisco School of Law (J.D.) and a member of the
California Bar. Michael’s articles on financial and
legal issues have appeared in The Asian Wall Street Journal,
The San Francisco Chronicle, the Far Eastern Economic Review,
and numerous professional journals.
